Can anyone tell me how to work the scale and how to solve the cats puzzle ?

You need to check a few areas to find the answers:
Orange

Check under the end table to find the orange symbol

Green

Check a drawing you find somewhere for the green symbol. It may not be what you think.

Pink

Look in the pink book and use the red pencil to find the red symbol

Blue

Use the white box with the holes in it under the desk to find the blue symbol

This should help for the puzzle.

So the golden ball weighs as much as 1 red, 1 green and 1 black ball... gosh, I'm so not good at that stuff...

And what about the puzzle. Say white stands for 1 and green stands for 3. Is it now the sum of both balls (in that case 4) or is it 13??
