I was doing so well and now I'm stuck....
8 button combo took a couple of tries.
Solved everything on the main floor and in the basement.
I received the symbols on the 3 colour picture; & I have no idea what to do now...
Of course...I got it!

Press colours below clock, as per numbers in basement.

Into 3rd room now....
Keep playing with door clue, but it's not working.
Found next step and now see lever.

Follow book clue.

Followed 2nd clue and now have 2 levers.
Found something I can reuse.

3 coloured buttons from box.

Enter symbols in order shown.

Took a couple of attempts to get symbols correct.
Excellent game; hope there's another one soon!!!
