Whats with the gun and the magnifying glass? Whats the code for safe?

Double click the gun to bring it up.
Use the magnifying glass to get a closer view.
Keep clicking the left side of the gun until you see a six digit number.
Enter this number in the safe.

hmmm the purple book in the second upper row, al the way to the right comes out. but I don't know if it is usefull?

ive used the magnifying glass in the sack and got another game chip-i also got cat poop which ive put back cant do anything with the picture or the blind-im not getting very much further here
ive got 7 game chips now and a 2 dollar note

I think I have found a glitch in the game...I opened the safe, but could not put the paper inside in my inventory. This was because my inventory was full, so I went to get rid of one beer. When I returned to the safe, the paper inside it was gone! Is this supposed to happen? I was wondering if maybe the cat has stolen it?

I restarted the game, and this time I was able to get the money, but the chip underneath it disappeared...sigh...
