On the opening with the trash can, get the block in the following directions (writes the items too ):
opening:Trash can
Under Pillow
Under table
Matches:Above table
Pipe:Above table
Right from the opening:Under the box thingy (or lantern)
In one corner
Right:Left Cabinet
Scroll:Right Cabinet
On the pot
Beside the Plate
Right:Candle - open frame(Bottom right)

Put the pipe in full view (Right button WITH a chinese-japanese sign). Get the tar (hollow part of the pipe).
View it again in full view (tar). Then click it 2times..
Get the scroll. Hang it. Put the H pattern in scroll. Get the candle. Get the matches, then click on the wick 2times. The light in the candle is on. Put it in the box-like (be sure to open it) on the front of the scroll. Wait till the light flickers. You will see a white pattern in the black part of the scroll. that is the key to the door.

I actually got out before I saw this full walkthrough. The hardest part of this game was not having the benefit of the descriptions. I was having a lot of trouble figuring out how to manipulate the candle and several hints helped. There's another very similar game to this out there somewhere, but I forgot what the game name is (Maybe it was Viridian Room). The other game also uses the plot of having to arrange things correctly upon an altar/shrine. It doesn't take all 9 blocks to open the door (I only found 7, and only needed 6). Once the candle, scroll, and black H thing are correctly placed in the shrine, the light flickers briefly and shows the pattern (don't blink - you'll only see it once). Use some of the previous hints on manipulateing things. Have fun.

this is hard where did u get the candle and i cant find anything but the scroll, matches, pipe, and eight of those white things.

From the opening screen grab the pipe, matches, block from trash, block from under pillow and block from under the table.

Turn right. Grab the block in the corner, and block from under the lantern.

Turn right. Grab block from counter, inside urn and in cabinet. Get scroll from right side of the cabinet.

Turn right. Get candle from behind glass (click on bottom right hand side of frame).

Return to the screen with the lantern and the washed out wall. Inspect the scroll to unroll it and place it on the wall. Inspect the pipe, get the tar out and it will unfold to some H pattern, place this on the unrolled scroll. Place the candle under the lantern and look at the unrolled scroll on the wall. When the lights flicker, it will show the pattern to get out of the room. Go to the door and place the white blocks in the lock in the pattern displayed. Click on the door handle and leave.

click the frame around the candle to make it move them get the candle move it to where you put the scrool on the wall lite the candle first put it i the shade the put the black h you got from the pipe on the scroll watch for a few sceonds then you see a patern it goes top, black white white white,middle white white white black, bottom black white white white,then open the door your free get out of ther you win xxx jo

Put it on the poster thing. When the ringing sound appears you'll see a pattern. That's how you should put the squares into the black spot on the door. Bingo!

i figured out myself that i need to light the candle, and i have the matches highlighted i just cant seem to click in the right spot it is making me crazy lol
