That didn't take long. No, I'm not out, I'm stuck. I can't read Japanese and I suspect that what's written on the ceiling is of some importance.

I have

a gold coin-looking thing, a rope, and an extendable pointer that I can't extend, a thumbtack behind the vending machine that I can't reach, and a number on the dry erase board that I converted to decimal that doesn't work as the password on the vending machine

Oh, and a sore mouse finger.

EDIT: Don't try combining items unless you're sure it'll work. I have three items stacked on top of each other in the same slot, and I can only access one of them now. Time to start over.

rope. Found the coin and the the thingy behind the vending machine and sumtin' on the roof in the room with the door. I can't get those last things though. I have an idea about the combination butaaa it doesn't work

I've got the thingy out of the vending machine now, but I'm not sure what to do with it. Don't drag the rope on top of it, though.

OK, I got the lens and found the new number, but that doesn't seem to work in the password spot either!

To get the pointer:

check the corners of the room very carefully!

i have a telescope, the pointer, a rope and the yellow coin, still cant reach the pin, have numbers from ceiling and white board, still cant get code for vending maching

@Hatty: Keep trying, you're on the right track.

@DSPIN: For the numbers:

you have to add them. Also, I had no luck with a binary translator, because the ones I've found only do ASCII (8 spaces). I had to translate it by hand.
