what am I supposed to use the scale for?? and what am I supposed to figure out by using the map???

i'm here just stuck too not very far ahead of you. and just so you know so you don't get in trouble. the mods don't like it when you double post. you should use your edit button instead

you use the map to figure out where to use the key. you get the key by using the scale to the left of the bookcase

run your mouse across the books until it turns into a hand to fine money x4

One of the treasure maps

is a clue to find the money. It tells you the shelf, number of books and which way to count. 2< means 2nd book from the right.
