Select the drill in your inventory, then click the about item button on the right of your inventory, select the spiral thingy, and click on the enlarged drill

please help. I can't get anywhere. I have 4 small screws, 5 large screws, a hinge, a red screwdriver, and a drill bit. I can't get to the second room. Do I need to find more items in the 1st room? Any hints?
