You have to sweep up the broken glass before you can take the candle. Click on the stand with the broom and shovel, it will clean the mess, then take the candle.

Well since no one has taken the liberty of typing a walkthrough I will myself.
Here it is:

So first after the small clip when you wake up take the cup and go one screen right to see the sofa (if you can call it that). Click on it to zoom in and click the thing sticking out and you will get a tree. Then go one screen right and click on the bookcase. Click on it again and the moon thing floating around, look at the 3 numbers below it and remember it. Then go two squares right after finishing zooming out. Click on the stone thing and enter the numbers by pressing the buttons. Then click the compartment below it will pop open and then take the shoe. Go one square right and click on the right side of the carpet. It will fold open revealing a key, take it, go one square left and click on the closet door. Use thekey with it to open the door. Click on the weird bird thing and he come out and then take the apple close the door. After you have the apple, go one square left and use the apple with the picture of the man with the hole. Click on his hat then you'll have the hat in your invintory. Go one square left, put the tree in the stand, Then go up, click the paper thing behind the fan then click on the light to make it go dark. Go down a screen and get the key under the clock. Go one square left and click on the wind shutters to raise them. Click on them again to lower them. do this several times until a pair of pliers appear. take them and go one square right click on the bookcase and use the pliers with the stained glass box. It will open and then take the hammer and go to the screen with the frozen egg. Use the hammer on it to break it and then take the egg. Use the egg with the check object option and then use the black key with it. It'll open then you take the key inside and X off the check object option and go to the screen with computer and click on it to get a closer look and use the key with the locked drawer to get a lighter. Go to the fireplace scene and click on the middle stand off the broom and shovel near the fire place. Then click the second candle to the end. Use it with the check object option and use the lighter with it to light it. X out of the screen and go to the door scene and click on six boxes. And place some items in the order of items from top to bottom are egg, shoe, hat, candle cup, hammer. After all those are place the box thing will be like a picture fall off the wall. Behind it is the key to freedom! Take it and use it with the door and your out!...
