Well...
Found a remote (used), a stick, a key (used), 2 balls, a note, and completely stuck...
Does someone understand japanese? i'm sure some clues are in the text above...

there's a second key on the side of the bookshelf, you've got to use the stick to get it

And not so hard when you finish it, just seems like it's a matter of clicking just at the right place...

So here's a walkthrough

You'll find the first ball

Under the sofa on the right

The second one

on the clock, at 5

The third one

in the trashbin

You'll find a key

behind the clock. Clik on top to turn it over, open the place for the battery, click on top of the little black piece

Remote's here

on the bookshelf

There's a note there

use the remote to open the vent

Go back to the bookshelf for second note

there are grey books, clock on the fifth (the one with a "5" on it) and open it

Ball #4 is

open the right cupboard under TV with the key you found behind the clock

Go to the scorpio picture for a third note

click up righ to turn the picture over, note's down right

To get the stick

go to the door, it is under

Ball #5 is

on the coat rack, the third ball from top

Key #2 is

on the right of the bookshelf, you need to use the stick to get it

Ball #6 is

on the bookshelf there's a safe, use the key you've just found to open it

So now we've got 6 balls, 2 keys (used), a stick (used), 3 notes and a remote (used), right?

Let's take a look at note #1

it says that balls are zodiacal signs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Astro_signs.gif)

Then to note #2

Remember the strange picture with the "4" in the middle? In fact this note tells you on witch position place numbers wich are on the back of the balls.
Note says C = SE, so capricorn goes to south-east.
Number for capricorn is 9.
position on the picture at the south-east is 3.
So number 9 goes in third position.
Do the same for the 2 other numbers.

Let's see note #3

it says : place Leo on top and Virgo the most far you can.

There's now only one place left for last number. Get it?

I know I'm close - so hate to cheat - have 13 items,
everything I think - and know the order - they just won't be accepted where I think they need to go. Is it that I'm too short? Need a 7th? for middle?

Took a smoke break in hopes of HELP and did hubby's eye drops. No help - no enlightenment. Even considered direction was misleading .. nope. they just won't stick there.
Resorted to help above - nope - no help. Maybe my game has a glitch?
Redid it

and the balls will not fit on the 6-pointed star item. tried using the letters of the signs to use as a password - pcvagl - lpcvag - nothing worked. So figure I have to do something - find something - open something. Have not done a thing with two weird machines/objects in the room. tried placing balls on them thinking maybe they have to be turned before fitting in star. nope. So off to do something else.

No need to put the balls anywhere, you need a code number.

Exact you don't need to put the balls anywhere

Click on a ball in your inventory, then on the circle below "check item". You'll see your ball in big size. Note the sign on a paper, then click on the ball to turn it over, you'll see the number corresponding to the sign.

Then, with the hints i gave below, assemble the numbers to crack the code!
