I used the green key to open the drawer on the right, there was the note with the numbers. Entered that code in panel, turned around, used box with "?" on book or cat on bed

I have the following things, and think i'm missing one.

a file thingy, something that looks like a mirror, and a brown circle. I think i'm missing the ring that you're all talking about...

I don't seem to be able to get the combination on the scales right. I've tried every combination now... i must be missing something. I'm going to start again....

You need only those 3 items.
Then look at the hint from RBS:

On the scales the side with two items has to be in order. If it doesn't work switch positions of the two items.

If I get it in the wrong order do I have to start again? Or can i just remove these two things and replace them in the right order?

Thanks, Mistery. I'm finally out. I did everything with that code (I saw the "4" in the password box). I added 4, subtracted four, and multiplied by 4. I didn't divide, because I wasn't given an even number. Also, despite the song, it's not my birthday. :/
