Wolf = 1 refers to the number of circles in the word "Wolf." The o is a circle. "Orangutan" would have four circles: o, a, g, a (think of the lower-case as the kind where it's a circle with a vertical line on the side, not the kind you see in this font). a, b, c, d, e, g, o, p, and q each have one circle.
Put the lens into the flashlight and shine it on the four-paned window, and you see three animals: elephant, pig, and alligator (not a crocodile). But there's one missing. Go back to the pillows and click the left one about ten times to get a paper that you can stick on the window, then shine the flashlight on it again to get the fourth animal. Count the circles, and you get the code for the lockbox.
