What does the final code have to do with goldfish dung?

LOL, I was wondering the same after I read the walkthrough and saw the answer. So I, never having owned a goldfish before, thought that maybe goldfish dung glowed in the dark (not that that would have anything to do with the answer) and I tried researching on it. I ended up reading comments to that same question and there are several good probable reasons:
1.) The translation from Japanese (or is the creator Chinese?) to English converts as goldfish dung instead of stalker or follow or somthing like that.
2.) Some one mentioned their goldfish had dung on it and it would trail behind the fish. So the hint would be it follows you if that is the case.

...and since discovering that goldfish dung doesn't glow in the dark, I might have just provided another explanation.
