grrrr. can't find place to hold magnifying glass in light. i have tried every where but have had no luck.

It may be a problem with the program. I tried in vane last night and I couldn't get the fire to start. I turned off my computer and then this morning I logged back on and tried again and did the same thing and it worked for me. If you logged back on and tried again and it still isn't working for you then

try placing the glass shard half way through the ray of light, about the spot where the ray is brightest and hold it there for a few seconds

if it works your next step is

place glass shard again like you did the first time to get a bigger fire going. You'll see you have made a whole on the floor. Once you see that be ready to turn off the fire

Also, I don't know if this had anything to do with getting it started but

I left the cap under the dripping water. Don't know if that has anything to do with it, but I figured that if this was a real life scenario, one would have to be ready to turn off the fire. Like I said, don't know if that had anything to do with getting it started

Yes

scroll the numbers up or down until you see one shift a little to the right. If it shifts, then thats the correct number to use. You might have to do a couple of runs before you notice the shifts. Atleast thats what happened to me.

Afternoon players .. odd game. What I've done ..

have hit golf ball and have a light shining in, filled hat with water but can't dump it anyplace, dug up thing with shove and have diamond from under table. no key for drawer. No clue about pw for tool box.

Storm, inspite of hurricane dance done by weather staff, won't build to be much of a threat.

got the key and a glove and a screwdriver

I'm out at last!! Yippee!!
Will probably have thunder storms in awhile which means my computer gets turned off - better safe than sorry! Fay south of me about 100 miles at this point but it is a "tropical storm" at this point.

I had the same problem with the fire BUT

I found the key to starting a fire!

when you break the lighter--DON'T move the rock again, leave it where it lies. this seems to be how it's done.

okay so;

after gettinq ball ; thing from under table & breaking the lighter with the thing from the plant ; click on the golf club furthest to the right over & over until you get it; then place the ball down near the lighter and get the golf club & click the ball . this sholud break a window & let in light. this is as far as i qot so far

I figured it out.

Here is the walthrough.

1) Dig in the plant with the yellow shovel till you grab the stone.
2) Click on the table till it flips over.
3) Take The Gum.
4) Put the hat under the dripping water. (Just leave it there.)
5) Double click the golfball then putit on floor.
6) Take the golfball with the black handle and use on golf ball.
7) Use the stone on the lighter. (It will break.)
8) Now use the stone on the window. (To break it.)
9) Click on the lock on the toolbox till it zooms in on it. Starting with on the right side start spinning it till it moves a little towards the right of the lock the do that with the other letters, The lock should open.
10) Now take the screwdriver and use it on the screws on the corners of one of the floor boards. (It helps to right click and zoom in on screws and use the tip of the screwdriver.)
11) Now use the key from under the floor board to unlock the drawer and get the gloves out of it.
12) Hold the gloves and run it over all the pieces of glass till you get a piece.
13) Now click the far most left leg of the table till it breaks off.
14) Use the gum on the stick and then the glass on the gum.
15) Hold the glass part toward the middle of the light where the light is brightest.
16) Hold it there till there is a big flame. (The second fire.)
17) Use the hat full of water on the fire before it burns the house down.
18) Now jump in the Hole to finish.
