That's weird... I just played it and had no problem.

I picked up the dynamite and as I turned back to that screen he was almost upon me, and I clicked the dynamite on him and that was that. Don't have to hold and click the mouse. Just click once to pick up the dynamite out of the inventory, and then click a second time on the zombie himself to dispose of him.

If you decide to come back to the game....

Place the bucket on the right side of the screen where there is water dripping down off of the stalagtite hanging from the ceiling. It will fill with water.

Can't get the torch...
