heres a walkthrough:

click in this order, where each "-" defines a step in the process:
-axe to the right of old tree
-axe in inventory, get, right side branch on old tree
-get, rope
-axe, use, leftward leaning tree that had rope on it
-bow, use, tent
-axe, get, guy on left side of river

I think it should just be when u click on sumthin, it does summin with it, like a normal stickman game. All the "get" and "use" stuff gets me confused.
