I have 38 and the key.

I can find the key but cannot pick it up despite millions of clicks - any clues anyone?

Ok found the key at long last while looking for the 40th dwarf (which I never found in the end) - the key is

not the weird thing dangling in the fireplace but its close by - just a different zoom in, if that helps.
