@Soxie....Don't feel bad.

click on one piece of wood, click the section with the ? on it. That should give you an "about view" of the wood. Then, while that screen is still up, select the other wood, and click on the one you have in the ? view. (That's how you combine them in this game. ) Then you should have a cross.
