Easy game. There are two ways to solve it: a good ending, and a bad ending.

For the good ending: Use the ladder.
For the bad ending: Use the chain saw.
The rake doesn't seem to do anything.

Once you have the key, go west from the tree. Use the key to unlock the shed. Inside, you'll find the ladder, chainsaw and rake.

Go back to the east, use the new items on the tree to get different endings.
