found 1 diamond and I can't go forward when I first get into the castle. Any help?

don't know what to do with the thing with a narrow slot and also the plant

Made progress. On second floor now. Trying to figure out plant and alien. Got tool and cage.

Okay, I have

diamond (used), empty jar, key to ??, and the map. I've been upstairs two different ways, started up the laser thing, but don't know what to put on the X, can't move the wiggly thing outside, moved the bookshelf.

and I've been stuck for a long time now What goes in the other white entrance door inside??

sorry - I took terrible notes - did you look on desk? in mirror? I'm stuck where I am ..

have to find ring of strenght before you can do something ..that leads to something else.
