Can't get the lightbulb on the 2nd screen

Here's what I did

pulled chain and the cop denied me passage. Grabbed a cone, tossed all the others and got the paint can. dipped cone into white paint, poured blue paint into tub, dipped cone into light blue paint. Now I'm wearing the light blue cone.
I can't get the robot to climb up to get the light bulb He can climb up the ladder on the light pole when short, but he won't climb when tall, and he won't climb up very far at all. How do I get the bulb?? Are the birds part of it?)

You need to let him climb up in normal size. When he reaches the last step, click on the lowest step to let him grab it, and add it on the top. Let him climb up further, and take the lowest step again and add it to the top

I went ahead & bought it,then I discovered my crappy old monitor wouldn't show the whole game,so I bought a monitor (was gonna anyways),I'll be playin' itover the next few days & let y'all know

What a great demo...but waaaaaayy tooooo short!! I figured it out without help until the last screen. Thanks Mistery! I may just have to save my pennies for the full game. I've been out of work far too long to splurge. Oh well...Christmas is coming!
