Update

When I did the book puzzle,

it looked like something fell, but I can't find it.

Also, my paper code says

DAB ACB

which is different from the one Rexroth posted. Neither one works. Still not able to do the picture puzzle.

Book Puzzle. I am fairly sure another red crayon falls. On easy you already have found one. Perhaps on hard level its your chance to get one.

I'm back and went left and covered that area first. 23 coins, 3 things unlocked, 7 items found. 1 puzzled solved. Seems like there were a few needful items I should have been able to pick up but no big ? over those many items. LIke chalk to do the math problem. LOL Will precede before looking for help.
Had to break for dinner.
Snag .. evidently missing something?

after going south I had 33 coins 4 unlocked, 11 things found & 1/5 done.
Post 17 gives me a clue.
Now playing with candles - well tried 2 things and now going to hunt for a hint.
Something fell in school house that I can't find. Opted for easy. Just one item not used. Missing 6 coins.
Out with a score 1007 ..

I gave it a rest, and started out fresh, but I still can't get the chimes to give me a key. Am I missing something else? I can't figure out what else to do with the old picture either.

The code should be indeed

DAB ACB. Then a key on top of the windchime should appear.

All I can think of why it doesn't work for you, is that you may have missed to pick up the paper with the code

This is the last puzzle, that terminates the game.
You need to put cleaned ring into the hole underneath the clock(?) there

wheres the green key? someone said in the cellar. which cellar?

I wouldn't be able to remember where it exactly was.
But here is what the walkthrough on the Melting Minds forums says:

Now move to tile 22 and note the door is locked, you need a green key. Move around to the left and then head into the cellar. Take the empty glass jar and then head back out of the cellar. There is a loose board on the right that once moved will reveal a green key.
