Ladder in the cave?
First off before you reach point where you need to make ladder, you should grab the pipe in the surf...
Then using that and the rest of the pipes, quickly assemble ladder.
It seemed (to me) that each corner piece could only go in a certain hole, not sure why...

I wanna know what this talk of a map is....
and/or how to do the sacrifice...

The maze.. is a pain..
First time through, I turned right every time I could, otherwise I went straight or turned left if given no other choice. Eventually I reached dead end, I turned around and continued taking every right and found her father. As I approached her father the machine started beeping alot.

Second time through tried same tactic, beeping got quite loud b4 reaching dead end (assuming path stays the same) and the monster got us, so I wonder if its timer related or location of monster changes (each time, or it moves around too...)

Maze

As someone has said before, with the maze all you have to do is this:

Keep turning right whenever given the option.
If you can't turn right, then go straight ahead.
If you can't go either, then go left.

If you do this for long enough, you will end up on a dead end. Click the back arrow and keep going the same way- always turn right!

FYI - after you get the gun shoot the jar by the gate. Then you will be able to pick up a map of the tunnels.
