I know no one has posted about this for a loooong time... but I figured out the deal with the red button/washing machine.

Is there a small black box under the red button? That's because you pressed tab earlier (if you click and drag the box out, it says "TAB KEY!?!?!?!?!?1). So push "tab" again, make it disappear, push the red button, push the green button on the washing machine until the blue glowing ball is off, then open the door.
