I'm stuck in the swamp with Liam, waiting for the plant to cool down. What to do, what to do...

Got it.

You turn on the bottom two "lights" and turn off the top one. Click the middle of the plant itself, and wait for a bug to land on the one closest to you. When the bulb turns blue, it's cool enough to take. Use the lung plant to help you breath underwater.
