Those who managed to decipher the symbols, can you tell me how? I've wasted 15 minutes trying to figure it out.

EDIT: Nevermind! I got it and I'm out ^^

After copying down the symbols as they are carved on the railing, you label them from 1-8. So the symbol on the first railing (from left to right) would be 1 and the one on the railing farthest on the right would be 8.

As for the password for the safe...

You look on the back of the dresser after clicking on the red dot.

Nope, you can't cheat--before you do anything with the dresser...

You'll have to arrange the wine bottles by year (in ascending order).

This causes the first letter of the second words spell out "RED DOT"

You'll notice that the 3 will now look like an "E" here. That's cause it's reversed.

Consequently you'll need to turn the whole thing around. For example, my code backwards was 51847236. But that's not the code. When turned around it was 63274815. That's the code for the safe (or it was for me; it might be different to prevent cheating). Also, the Code for the inside of the door is the same as it was for outside.
