first wait till hes near the door and slam it open to scare him so he runs past the first stair
wait till hes on the floor below and slam the door open and shut at the other end so that he hears it hell go investigate the noice and go down the stairs
open the door at bottom floor(you can do that in advance)
then when hes balancing on the floor slam the door shut to make him fall down

haha same..and i cant really always get him to do what i want..but i have been getting to the door eventually so its all good!
