The flags r not changing.. is there anythin u have to do b4 they will change to white?

this is driving me nuts cos although the flags change to white i cant get passed this bit and have tried at least 20 times

im stuck at the bit with the hot air balloon, the ufo , the clouds, sun and weird serpant thing under the sand. i picked up the leaf, twig and grass and can move the sign.
I thought i had to reflect the sun off the sign and try and get the balloonists attention...maybe not.....anyhelp?

How do you get up the hill? Like when you press tab it goes up up straight and I reid that pattern but I didn't work and so I tried tab again and it went up straight up straight and so I tried and IT'S NOT WORKING!!
