click the grey meebling (he's the zapling) and he shuts off the fans. Then quickly click the far yellow meebling, and they all hurry to him.

I can't shut off the fans on 8.

Edit: Nobody had a problem with 8 except me? Man I feel like a dope. Still stumped. I must be missing something simple.

Click and HOLD on the guy with the hat until you see the meebling with the glasses. Then release. (The hat guy can change to any meebling.) That selects the meebling. Then click him, and he ZAPS, and shuts off the fan.

Duh. I didn't realize he scrolled through all the meebs, meeps, mumps whatever.
