u have to pull these long long things and push the buttons and it pops up letters i have all the letters but it wont let me go to the next level

I'm on 122. I know I need to hit Play when it pops up, but that doesn't work. I couldn't do 99 either. I could get to the start button, but clicking play did nothing nor is it now. For 121 I also had to 'cheat' as clicking forward did nothing. I'm using IE, is that why it's not working? Thanks!

EDIT: AAARRRGGGHHH!!! Computer shut down and i had to start again and now the click hand isn't coming up on level 17.
