You have to figure out the value of each number.

I got stuck on level 4, the gated city one, where the guard was waiting for the password. He'd give a number (five) and the response(4). I tried subraction, addition, and multiplication, but nothing seems to work. It's probably really obvious, and I'm being an idiot, but I'm just not getting it at all.

For level 4: the logic is simple

O N E = 3
1 2 3

T W O = 3
1 2 3

T H R E E = 5
1 2 3 4 5

For level 5:

To use it, you have to throw it. When you are done, you need to take it back.

Look at the picture, think about things associated with that scene.
