so far this level seems more like a guessing game...I hope someone proves me wrong

The only idea I can come up with,

is that it has something do with dates. I trid dividing the number by 365 and got 2009, so it seems to be a date represented as a number.

Interesting, one of my first thoughts, with the title in mind, was a d*** too. But I didn't noticed that. Plus it tells I have the same number as you, and shaharc has too the same number. Guess there aren't variations for this question.

I haven't been working on it since my previous post, so lets see if I have more luck this time.

mm.dd.yyyy, but it might be just a word. Using Theme's finding I am almost positive about the answer. Actually two possible answers, depending if you use this knowledge to go back in the past, or stay in the present.

Thanks for your post, Theme. That's what made me get the answer.

Though I am not sure if the creators calculated it correctly. Math is not my thing, so I am not fully trusting my calculations.

Thanks Leontien. It took me a few tries, as I didn't agree with the calculation, but there was only 3 possibilities, so I found it out eventually. Then I checked the calculation after realizing the error on my part, and his number is indeed correct.

I asked them for an explanation because I had found different results but not theirs

the format I was looking for is based on a proleptic Gregorian calendar (wiki ) and my calculation was too...I didn't realize there would be a difference to the actual solution

I was so sure of the answer to 44, but it wasn't accepted. I sent the creators a message just to make sure there isn't a glitch or bug.

Edit: No bug, or glitch. The answer should be far more general.

It was actually the only answer I could come up with so it's possible there was a bug or still is if your question is different.

Hi, I'm new here, but I've been doing the WIQ. The chart on the right shows how much variation there is in different people's puzzles, which will affect how many answers there are. It also shows the IP points available for that puzzle, the penalty points, and the IP will show how many points you have left after each wrong answer.

As for Q44, can you give us a hint?

I hope I can help without saying exactly which clues you need
if it doesn't work I'll sure give a bigger hint

the answer is something well known and all answers are connected...it's obvious now

for starters
reduce the clues

3 or 4 clues are strange, too abstract or don't make sense

2 clues are quite accurate, check them and decide whether they can be important

you should be left with about half the clues

probably the easiest way to find the answer now is to compare the clues with someone else

if you work alone:

one phrase on the first page is important:
You could get your answer using only one, but the other two will point you in the right direction.

you need one clue that is more specific
most clues you're left with are too general that they could give you an answer
make an elementary connection

the other connection is more a verification when you have the correct answer
too unknown imho... I wouldn't say it pointed me in a direction

I finally got 44. Thank you for clarifying some things, Calista.
I made the connection between two hints in the very beginning, but totally missed the third one (actually the most obvious one), and another hint made me think I was on the wrong track with that.

Still I think that my first answer I tried made far more sense than the actually answer.

Is anyone working on 45, too?

I got the first part, and now I am working the second part. I have problems with figuring out the first and third word. The first word could be a name.
If I do what the first part tells, I don't get something that is useful to figure out the second part. Unless I am missing something..

Edit: Okay, I think I know what the 1st and 3rd word are, except for the part in parenthesis. If I am correct..

the first part, as well the first 2 lines of the second part are instructions.

But so far I haven't been successful to execute the last part of the instructions. I am wondering if the creators took account of that the results are not stable, or perhaps I misinterpret the instructions.

Thanks, Calista. Now I at least now what I have is correct. But I am still puzzled by the instructions of the second part, certainly the very last.

Edit: I am going nuts.
I should be simple, I suppose, but the fact that what I get is in Dutch, not English, makes me think that I am really doing something wrong, or don't understand the instructions correctly.

If googling the formulas or their outcomes don't do the trick for you, it's an idea to google the question's title.

For me

quotation marks made the difference to find the age. You'll find the 2nd number afterwards...
