well I have found the cathedral now and have tried typing the country and town and name of cathedral .... am getting nowhere ( any hints available ?

Adding the two numbers gives you the number already in the equation. I tried that and the average of the two numbers as answers with no results.

Okay, finally got the two possible solutions but as you said before they don't work really. Any ideas what looking beyond them could mean?

None of my ideas have worked so far, Leezisme had an idea that they were years that were linked somehow.

Yes, I had that idea, too and looked for similar historical events in that country for the 2 years. But no clue so far.
