i've got two thoughts, but neither seems to work

i thought maybe take parts of the words and have them mean strong desire.. i.e, a lurcher= alure, a late= elate
my second thought was to take letters from a lurcher and a late to form a word that means strong desire.

are either of them close?
maybe?

no duh! did it on codebreaker...thought it worked the same way but all i get are like

fee, feed, face...dumb stuff like that! am i doing something wrong or am i even close?
