Yes, the alt is referred to ASCII. On your keyboard it is shortcuts to different functions.

I have

converted the number on the page from base 26 to decimal
(get some huge number) and I have converted it TO base 26 from decimal and get a number so large they represent it with letters!

What am I doing wrong??
