That type of puzzle was on Enigma Riddle, thats why I got it so fast.

oh and i never played that i see, well i think its pretty obvious what the stuff with the underscores in the source mean at least i think so

but why'd he use underscores instead of equals signs?

no it didnt work but i think it may have been the thing you originally thought of, it just seemed so obvious. i tried it forwards and backwards but nothing

I even did caesar cipher on the results and got back nada.
