2. Where can I get the color information? from the gif file, or the other places? How can I find it?
3. How should I manipulate the software since I admit I'm weak in image processing?

I think you made a mistake somewhere, recheck what you have.

Your first letter is right, but your last letter isn't. Also you should get 5 letter answer and not a 6 letters answer.

2. Use gimp. It's free and you can download it here. http://www.gimp.org/
3. Check the options and look for colormap.
