18iv has some kind of shorthand, but I can't figure out what type it is. Did anyone actually solve this or just get help from the creators?

That level changed since we played it originally. I haven't tried the new version. I was just happy to get past it. I'll redo it at some point but I really don't know what the new message says so its hard to give a clue.
