If you saw the first part of the quote then you'll see the word you need in the quote

Yes, I wondered that last night. Hasn't given me any inspiration though.

I also wondered if the letters were a red herring as well. Perhaps we don't need to be looking at what the letters and symbols are, just the fact that there are some. Clutching at straws now.
