Click it so it goes to II symbol. Start turning the other dial slowly waiting for the next clunk. Lather, rinse repeat until you get the magical "you've beaten this puzzle" tone. (Five rotations? I think.) Pretty much you are on your own to beat this, it's random as far as I saw, and I had to re-start a LOT of times too.
Good luck.
Anyone gotten past getting the third note in room 9? I think I am onto an idea, but have lost steam. By third note, I mean you start with two, so the first bit gets you a "third" note. Sorry for the confusion.Woot!

If you don't get that *blip* tone, then it either counted you as overshooting, or you have more rotations to do. It's not finished until you get the magical "you beat this puzzle" tone. If you think you've done enough rotations, and you didn't get the tone, start over cracking the safe. *comfort*Woot!

Did you hit the red x when you went to restart over and try safecracking again? That is how you reset the puzzle. For some reason, the first time I was trying again I hadn't clicked the red x, and was just continuing to play with the dials. Boy were my cheeks red when I realized. In my own defense though, I was pre-occupied with trying not to make my caffine induced hand shakes worse, and I'd spent hours wrestling with puzzle two of room seven. heh...
And on preview I see your post. *COMFORT* I didn't think of asking you that. I'm sorry!Woot!

Level 9
I don't think leet speak is the key to the solution. I am looking at those symbols, I tried transcribing them to numbers, and thence to letters. Only gibberish so far. The red paint striking them out is rather like the middle symbol from level 8, but entering that time into the hs did no good, nor trying it on the keypad. So far "key" and "it" are not the solution either.Woot!
