I can't solve 17. My PC can't work with SiMPLE, and I don't understand the hint(s)
Tried to go to Cybertrek and to Tri-Quest, but that didn't solve the problem.

New Rules

Most of the players have indicated that they would prefer to receive more hints instead of the cash prize. But, as a compromise, I have decided to implement a "Fuzzy Logic" approach to the contest: Instead of immediately and "abruptly" setting the $100 cash prize to zero dollars, I will gradually "phase out" the prize as more hints are given. Beginning on 2005 August 7 (Sunday) I will issue one new hint per week until someone solves the puzzle. With each new hint, the cash prize will decrease to one half of its then current amount. (I.e., on August 7 the prize will drop to $50; on August 14 the prize will drop to $25; etc.)

All new hints will be posted around noon (California time), and they will appear in the "Hint" box on page 21 of Dr. Azumi's book.
