game over, check mate, dark wins, white loses, vanquish, prevail

but NOTHING WORKS...plssss hlppp!!!!!

Lurker Breakdown

I am a longtime Gamershood lurker but this game finally got me to break down and register so I can plead for help. I am stuck on Chapter 3 in the following areas:

An old desk: I can't find any "letters" in the

drawers of the desk, unless you count the faint letter "A" on the papers in the cubbyhole but that doesn't seem to get me anywhere.

Map of Europe/Root Creek/Forest Maze/Red Path 1: I assume that the fact that I can't find the Old House letters is what is making these unsolvable.
Approaching darkness: I can use

b***** to turn each column into a number but the answer doesn't seem to be either that numerical string, or the sum of those numbers (in d****** or b*****).

What am I missing?
Falling Leaves: I'm a terrible cryptographer, but I don't see

the pattern in the top string.

Tormented Screams: I think I am missing the point here.

PS. I got through Chapter 2 without ever solving the Maze of Streets. Was I supposed to be able to do that? Is that part of my current problem?

Help!!!!!

Ok. I had to stop last night cause I needed some sleep, and I thought that would help me figure out the very first riddle. However, I'm looking at it now, and it is still completely foregin to me. I know how to do this now, I'm just stuck on trying to figure out the riddle itself.

If anyone could possibly send me a PM or something to help me understand this, I would so greatly appreciate it.

Now I am stuck on the Four Riddles/Reveal the Clues. I have three of the answers, but can't seem to figure out the "Eternal Sewer." I see the writing on the wall but I can't figure out what it means. Thanks!
