Dora Woods/Dead River

Hello all! Been lurking here since starting DR2, and have gotten well into Chapter 4, thanks to all the hints I've found here! Now I need to ask for help... I'm stuck at Dora Woods and the Dead River (the grid). I've found what I need to read and have some ideas on it but haven't been able to make it work. Any help would be appreciated!

Apart from 'Bodley Mansion' (got the egg, don't know what to do with it), i'm stuck everywhere in Bodley Ruins - no idea with siege, know what the terms are in failing but can't get the right word, can make a word in foul minds but that isn't the answer obviously.

Could anyone post/pm me a hint please?
