Ok, I saw that you guys are getting hints from somewhere... are you getting egg pages, or is there a hints page I missed?

no hint pages for me, all on my own. I guessed level 3 from the clue and all others have made visual sense.

I wasn't taking the line above the puzzle as a clue.

On 4... is it color-related?

The hints are on the page, above the puzzle.

That picture looks a bit like a train track, doesn't it? Take that along with the last word in the "hint" and the words you see in the picture to get the answer.

@ Brain - two word answer, first word is given, second word is what the whole thing looks like...(sort of) Crimson came up with this solution and I think its the right one.

Is the colour important?
It's grey? I can't really tell being semi colour blind.

the actual color is not important. Just the shade compared to others

Brain, that could indeed be a spoiler. With RBS's previous hint, and the word given, it could be easy to jump levels. I think you'll see why when you get it.

All the letters are the same shade. They're just not as dark as the previous ones.

@RBS.... Oh! Oops. I went faster than I thought.
My second thought was

that they were eyes... and if you say it out loud, it would make a phrase.... but not one that makes sense or works as the answer.

sorry brain, I knew about the color blindness and didn't mean to belittle it. You will use one of these in your home tonight before going to bed almost certainly. It will be DARK outside tonight but tomorrow it will be....
