You are getting pretty close

The first word of the answer will be what you see, and the second word will be an occupation that has to do with that middle letter/symbol

Geez, I know I must sound like an idiot, but I still don't get it. The misspelling doesn't help, because I don't even know what to try. I'm making absolutely NO connections.
