exactly one

you might have missed. Doing what it tells you (after figuring it out) will solve the level.

Let's hope you haven't forgotten how to do this, or where to find the guide to doing this, after so long.

I also recently got into this game and joined the discord server. I was stuck on moira 48 and got the help I needed. I'm currently on m51 and feel like I need help again though because my editing skills aren't the best for this one.

If M51 is the level I'm thinking of, then I recall it's far more intimidating than it is difficult. Actually, this level's really simple:

M51: you need every piece. One hint tells you where each piece is, and you can deduce from it (if you couldn't tell clearly from looking at the image) how wide each piece is. The editing you have to do amounts to cutting out each one, then doing with these pieces what another hint tells you to do.

For a nearly spoiling analogy,

have you ever seen a beaded curtain hanging over a doorway?

It's difficult to hint for M51 because of its simplicity, so sorry if I've given over too much. Also, the members of the E.B.O.N.Y. Discord server are generous with help, so I'm surprised to see someone come here from there to ask. (How did you discover this place?)

I haven't asked on there for help with this one yet but wanted to comment on how it is nice it is to have access to help if needed. I think I get the idea of what needs to be done but it doesn't seem clear enough to make anything out after my editing. Also, I found this place because I enjoy puzzle games and have played url based ones before and recently finished Dracula's riddle. I've tried playing several others since then but this one seems the most interesting from the characters, dialogue, and lore that surrounds it.

I'm not sure what you've done so far, and worse can't think of a way to ask further without going to PMs. I recommend you ask in the E.B.O.N.Y. Discord server, starting around the time of day of this post, ending some ~12 hours thereafter. A certain user in the server will probably give you all the help you'll ever want in real-time.

Otherwise, here's one more, extreme hint:

The word used in the hint which tells you what to do with the pieces is not a bad synonym or obfuscation for what you should really do, but is instead the most specific and literal description of what you need to do. What it would mean in a physical situation is what it does mean here.

I'll also attempt an oblique confirming hint for M51 anyway, in case where you happen to be stuck is after doing all the right editing:

The height of your resulting work is the same as the height of each individual piece. I'll say nothing about the other...

I hope these hints aren't spoiling enough to get me censured.
