Apocalypse is a FREE web-based MMORPG, where everyone plays in the same world, a world filled with magic, technology, and few rules. Drawing upon the many concepts that have made RPGs exciting throughout the ages, Apocalypse tries to recreate the feel of a tradition pencil-and-paper RPG through the decisions and choices your character has to make.

Uh...for the record, it says it's still in beta, there's deffinatly going to be a few bugs.

Anyway i'm getting about slowly, had a couple of fights, i'm in the town but i can't figure out how to get into any of the buildings. I wanna buy a weapon! Why is there no helpfile on the website o.O

Hey guys, this is the creator of the game. I just wanted to thank you all very very much for your feedback. I really appreciate it, moreso because it wasn't what I'd like to have heard -- that way I know it's honest! And honestly in reply, if you have the time you should try to give it another shot. Whenever I've had a spare moment over the last month I've been updating it, and I've probably spent as much time on speed optimization as I have on adding stuff. It's much much faster now, it's actually somewhat playable! lol I know it was bad before, but I just started working on it again recently (as you can see from the updates I took two long breaks from it of several months each), but you should have seen it when I first started! In fact one of the reasons it was bad during the time you guys were playing it was because I had just started updating it again, and over the months that I hadn't been, it had been accumulating players so the code wasn't optimized to be able to handle hundreds and hundreds of players in the database (okay, okay, it was written badly so that it was loading all of them unnecessarily).

But that's all fixed now, and I've made quite a few other updates too (a bunch of really small things that aren't even listed as well). I've also added a much more extensive help system to get people familiar with the game and the controls, etc. Alll in all though, I'm really really excited by what I've been able to accomplish so far, and I really encourage anybody who has time to give it another try. I hope to keep making it better and better as time goes on, and once again I really really thank you all for telling me what you really think about it. If you try it again, please continue to let me know what you think about it, even if it's not what I want to hear.

what the meanings for the class selections?

It would be awesome to have 1) explinations for classes and 2) more detailed stuff about alignments (perks, concequences, what's expected of you, etc.).
But, that may be because I'm too used to MUDs...

I'll try it out anyway.
