i have a char called Poonybug (the name i picked for my neopets username when i was 5) i think hes level 73 or somthing, but i haven't played it for a while so i can't be sure. i was a member but i quit about 6 months ago.

If anyone is on this board still, my name on runescape is Ayakotaro. I ain't a member (costs too much for me right now). I already have all but 2 of the non-member quests done and I'm getting bored on there. A huge warning to newbies, don't follow people into the pvp areas, they will kill you and take your stuff. Someone already tried to get me into that area, I told them I'll meet them there, then walked the other way . If you need help on the shield quest or whatever it is that the king asks you to do that involves getting a pheonix crossbow, I'll try to help you out.

I find that most new users who quit, quit due to the fact they cannot obtain 'the top items out' quickly. I've seen lots of newbies get declined their offer of a [EXAMPLE] pot and newcomer's map for a rune platebody, then instantly hate the game.

For you people out there, there are a few basic ways to making money.

1. Merchant.
Merchanting is the main vein [pardon the pun] of cash flow in RuneScape. Merchanting is a process of buying low and selling high to make a hefty profit. Most users merchant coal. Ex. Buy 1k coal for 150g each, sell 1k coal for 180k each for a 30k profit.

2. Willows/Yews
More time consuming than merchanting, but the first choice for users who do not wish to sit in a bank for hours typing SELLING COAL 180 EA. [Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, much! The process consists of chopping wood. For example, lets use willows. Most players do this for a profit, with a few woodcutting levels on the side. The main price for willows is 20-25g each. If you can chop 10k willows (Which would net you 10-20 woodcutting levels if you're in the 30s. Or maybe a few levels if your 60+. Plus, on the side, you would gain 10 woodcutting levels, plus 200k! [250k if you sell for 25ea]

3. Monsters
Ultimately the slowest way of making money, but hands a quick experience rate. For example, if you kill lessers, your average drop would net you 100g each. Rarely you'll get a 10k rune medium helmet. As you get higher in level, you can kill these faster to gain more money. This stands for all monsters. This method is usually used by the lower and higher levels.
