Click on the item you want to put in vial with the hand to pick it up then click on the vial so that you can see it in the window on the right then click on the vial there with the ingridient.

i tried it didnt work

Did you click "start a new game"?

And did you do the things when "Go" appears? (Click the inventory, save a slot and pick up sth) Because otherwise I didn't manage to advance either. I had first to do what I was asked to do.
