It is fun, but it seems many of the power-ups are worthless. The only one which seemed useful in later levels were the double and triple damage power-ups. Outside of buying those I just concentrated on leveling up. The first time I played I lost because I wasted too much money buying this like poison and slow.

Sure leveling up is the most important thing and should have priority as the enemies have more health in each wave.

However I have experienced impact of the additional features, e.g. poison or confuse (when the affected enemy starts to walk backwards for a short time), the plant bomb (which destroys several enemies at once) etc.

If you see the next wave coming, you can check out against which feature they are immune (I think the immunity is not part of the Easy play mode).

I beat all 10 levels of the original Mushroom Tower Defense by using confuse alot in the final level.

I managed to beat all layouts on easy and normal with only basic tower upgrades... trying to tackle the hard level, but I don't think it can be done without some advanced accessories.

Hard level is giving me fits. So far not even close on any track. I have been keeping the towers on the yellow neutral mode. Going to try some experiments switching some to strong mode (red).

Edit: Got 5/6 tracks done in hard mode. Moving up to insane is exactly that - insane. Not coming close to a formula for that.

                UPDATE
There is now an expansion version with new maps available, added the link to the first post.
Since the game is not really new or much different from the original, I don't think we need a separate thread for it.
