I think I got the right words but I don't know how to apply them on the table. i know i have to fill in the words according to the direction that was given, but then i don't know how to get the letters corresponding to 1-10...

You are correct about filling in the grid in the given direction.
Then just pick the letters from the fields with the numbers, the solution won't make sense
